Guests will have the whole house to themselves, which has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1.5 kitchens, 2 lounges, a fireplace, garage, off-street parking and an outdoor braai.One bedroom has a queen-bed with an en-suite bathroom (with a bath and shower). The second bedroom has a double bed and the third has two single beds. They share a bathroom with a deep bath. There is also a single bed in the smaller lounge for a 7th person.
There is a large kitchen which is fully equipped with pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, microwave, kettle, toaster, stove, and washing machine. There is also a smaller kitchenette with a microwave and tea & coffee making facilities.
The larger lounge has a fireplace, big TV (no reception) with a DVD player and lots of assorted DVDs. There are also board games, extra blankets and electric blankets for those chilly evenings.
Sutherland
Sutherland is a quaint karoo town known best for its star gazing. The South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) is a 15 min drive away, and day and night tours are available. The town also boasts the childhood house of Afrikaans writer N.P van Wyk Louw and a beautiful church built in 1855. Although the region is semi desert, every year winter dusts the landscape in snow and spring brings forth a multitude of daisies. The fresh air and peace and quiet makes for a great getaway from the city. Please note that since Sutherland is a small town, shops are closed between 1-2 pm and are closed on Sundays.
